Construction on Track at Hayes Barton Place
June 5, 2024It’s a bird’s eye view.
Viewing the development of Hayes Barton Place senior living community from above is not just for the birds anymore. Contractor Brasfield & Gorrie is also keeping track of the dramatic progress being made at Hayes Barton Place, a new luxury Life Plan Community being built in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Hayes Barton Place will feature a range of housing styles and upscale amenities, including a golf simulator, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a pickleball court, a regulation croquet lawn and multiple dining venues.
“We’ve been sharing drone footage during in-person updates that are held quarterly with Charter Club residents, the first people who have deposited and will be moving into the community,” says Thad Moore, Director of Development at Hayes Barton Place. “We show construction footage, tell them where development stands and answer their questions.” Most of all, the drone footage helps to create and maintain excitement for this highly anticipated project.
Nestled in a historic neighborhood filled with majestic vintage homes in Raleigh, construction of the community is on schedule, Moore reports.
The Hayes Baron Place community will feature 169 independent living residences, 24 flats, and nine townhomes. Hayes Barton Place will also offer assisted living, memory support, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing in its Bloomsbury Health Center.
“Everything is moving along,” Moore says. “Residents are getting excited. We are in the early stages of planning move-ins.”
The community is adjacent to Raleigh’s Hayes Barton Historic District, which is filled with leafy mature trees and colorful gardens. Many of the neighboring homes were constructed in the mid-to-late 1920s, including various period-revival architectural styles: Tudor, Dutch Colonial, Colonial, Craftsman Foursquare, and Georgian.
In keeping with the neighborhood’s historic environs, the independent living building at Hayes Barton Place blends Colonial and Georgian Revival precedents.
“The stately five-story concrete and steel red brick Clubhouse makes a statement about luxury and comfort. We placed an emphasis on making sure that Hayes Barton Place fit into its surroundings and borrowed architectural styles from notable timeless structures throughout the region. The building transitions nicely from three stories of healthcare along Oberlin Road to five stories of independent living,” Moore says.
These residences, called Club House Condos, range in size from 800 square feet to over 3,100 square feet. Every residence comes with a covered balcony or patio overlooking outdoor living space.
In addition, Hayes Barton Place will offer The Flats on Bicton, elegant condo-style residences. The 1800 square-foot Walter and the 2,034 square-foot Westminster feature two bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths with a den.
The Flats on Bicton come with two-car private garages and are decorated in a stately yet comfortable style that includes large front porches, high ceilings, crown molding and trim.
The Terraces at Hayes Barton Place are single-family attached three-story townhomes with a private elevator. The Terraces have three bedrooms and three and a half baths, withaccess to a beautiful, covered terrace with a wet bar off the third floor.
As construction of Hayes Barton Place proceeds, Moore says residents are especially excited about the community’s range of amenities, including an art studio, movie theater, golf simulator, library, card room, and heated saltwater pool and hot tub.
The outdoor amenities include al fresco dining, a pickleball court, a putting green, a bocce ball court, a regulation-size croquet lawn, an open-air pavilion, anoutdoor music venue, a community garden and a firepit.
While seeing is believing, Charter Club residents enjoy the quarterly construction updates and exciting drone footage, which helps provide more information and a taste of what life will be like in the community.
