Everything is Easier with Friends: Hayes Barton Place Senior Living In Raleigh Helps Residents Get Acquainted

September 5, 2023

Lots of creative and fun activities are getting future residents excited about living at Hayes Barton Place. The luxury senior living community in Raleigh, North Carolina, will feature 214 independent residences with upscale amenities and concierge services.

The events have an important purpose. They are helping future residents get acquainted with each other even before the property’s scheduled opening in 2024.

The future neighbors have been busy. Some of the events they’ve attended include Jazz in the Garden, a Ladies’ Brunch, sample exercise classes and more.

“These events are helping folks get to know each other so when they move in, they will already have built some relationships,” says Donna McCaskill, senior residency counselor.

These events are also showcasing the type of lifestyle residents can expect to enjoy in the community and the caliber of activities that will be provided.

“High-quality programming is important for people who want to move here, keep growing and enrich their lives,” says Ann Janvier, sales counselor.

The Hayes Barton Place team is already getting feedback from people who’ve attended the events and who are looking forward to making Hayes Barton Place their home.

“What a fun party you put on today,” wrote one resident in an email. “I enjoyed my table mates and look forward to living close to them. Thank you for all your creativity and enthusiasm.”

“Every time I leave one of your events, I feel so happy about our decision to move to Hayes Barton Place,” wrote another. “Yesterday [event] was just as enjoyable as all of the others.  I especially had fun with the sample exercise class.  It was so much fun exercising to the music.”

The enjoyment will only grow for residents, who will have even more activities and events from which to choose once they move in.

“We will have a staff member whose whole job will be to plan events for our residents,” McCaskill says.

The community also will welcome the input of residents, who will be encouraged to suggest ideas for programs and events. Two future residents have already done just that. They started “Mahjong Mondays” to learn and play the game, which currently meets in the community’s sales center.

Hayes Barton Place’s well-appointed campus will provide the spaces and amenities that will make it easy and comfortable for residents to participate in activities.

Some amenities planned include multiple upscale dining venues, a state-of-the-art wellness center with an exercise room, an indoor saltwater pool and hot tub, a pickleball court, a library, a billiards room, a card room, an art studio, beautiful outdoor spaces, and paved walking paths.

Whether they are walking down the hall to attend an art or exercise class or are joining others on a trip off-site to a concert or museum (with transportation provided by the community), the staff at Hayes Barton Place is committed to making it easy and stress-free for residents to enjoy an active lifestyle.

“They don’t have to worry about driving or parking,” McCaskill says. “It’s all about making it easy for them. They don’t have to do the planning. We do it for them.”

The best part of the lead-up to the community’s opening is seeing residents already building the bonds of friendship that will make it easier for them to adjust to their new homes.

While it’s exciting to see the physical structure of the community taking shape, it’s even more exciting to see relationships forming among residents.

“We’re building a community of people, not just a bricks and mortar building,” says Terree Montgomery, Neighborhood Design Center concierge, who is helping residents select their new homes.
